Barrie Phillips is the founder of the Getting On Together (GOT) project. Following the 9/11 atrocity he headed a team of teachers, academics and faith leaders to form the GOT Project – a non-profit making educational collaboration with a vision to counter extremism and promote respect and tolerance for all through the medium of formal and informal education programmes. His journey started at Reading and the Sorbonne, after which he entered the teaching profession at Cardiff’s Fitzalan High school, the largest multi-cultural school in Wales. He has held a succession of advisory and management positions, among them Technical & Vocational Education Initiative Coordinator for South Glamorgan; Head of Faculty; Community Tutor; Head of Middle School. From 2013-2019 Barrie was the Home Office all-Wales HE/FE Prevent Coordinator before resigning to commit more time to the GOT project. Jane Ashman Safeguarding

Throughout her career she has tried her hardest to put the child or adult’s needs at the centre of decision making. This requires involving them and hearing their voices. She believes that by working together outcomes can change for people within our communities. She offers Safeguarding Training at a variety of levels, accredited Safer Recruitment Training, Independent Investigations and Safeguarding Consultancy for audits, pupils and staff voice, etc.
